Questionnaire and Further Audience Feedback
This footage, we felt wasn't good enough to be in our trailer. The problem with it is that it looked a bit boring and also the climax of the shots were supposed to be when the zombie showed his face to the screen and we were going to have this as a jump scare at the end of the trailer, due to our research in which this happens a lot. for example, it happens in films such as lights out and creates a long lasting, memorable impact on the audience.
How will we overcome this?
We are going to overcome this by eventually taking the shot out. We are going to leave it in for the first cut, in case it may grow on us. furthermore, we will leave it in for the first cut and get people opinion on it.
We sent out an email to people in our year and also a few teachers. The idea of this was to gain feedback, whether it be positive or negative. The reason we chose both students and adults is due to our target market research audience. Our audience is people of the age of 18+, this was covered by the students in year 13 in Sixth form and also teachers would represent the upper bracket of our target audience (up to 35).
FEEDBACK:
Conclusion:
We are going to take this scene out in the 3rd cut and hopefully this improves the trailer and makes it more mysterious and less revealing.
Early Designs for our Logo
This is our design for our production logo, our production name is another bloody productions. When coming up with the concept for our production logo we thought upon the idea of having our logo following the general codes and conventions of horror movie production company logo's. These include things such as red fonts to represent blood and dark colours such as a black background, as you can see we have only followed one of those codes and conventions. We have thought about adding in a black background in a new and improved version of our production logo to further follow the general codes and conventions of horror movie production logo's. This will then make our production logo look more like a general production logo used within horror movies.
Although we have thought long and hard into the steps we need to follow in order to make our production logo look as if it is representing a zombie horror movie, this is not our final design. We took our time when coming up with the design, making sure we followed the general codes and conventions and to make sure that it stands out. However, we did not spend that much time when it came to the executing the design onto paper. As a group we decided that we need to spend more time developing our existing logo so that we can make it not only look the same as those used within typical zombie horror movies but also so that it looks more presentable, because as it stands the logo does not look very professional and we would not include this logo within our work as we feel that we can design a more detailed better looking production logo.
Another Bloody Productions
This is the new and improved version of our production logo. However, this is not our final logo. We need to develop this one to make it stand out more and look more professional as at the moment it does not look like a final production logo. Also we had a discussion within our group and although we all decided upon this font and colour style we agreed that it needed to be developed further as it did not look detailed enough.
