Questionnaire and Further Audience Feedback

As a group, we are not sure as to how to create the trailer fully. We have chosen our genre of a zombie/horror film. The thing that we are stuck on is how much zombie we should actually have within the film's trailer. We need to make it clear that it is a zombie film to the audience, however we don't want to much zombie in it as it may look tacky and come off as a bit 'jokey' and may look like an amateur production. We used make up to create a zombie character and used a sort of CCTV looking footage to try and create an eerie scene, however this didn't work very well.

This footage, we felt wasn't good enough to be in our trailer. The problem with it is that it looked a bit boring and also the climax of the shots were supposed to be when the zombie showed his face to the screen and we were going to have this as a jump scare at the end of the trailer, due to our research in which this happens a lot. for example, it happens in films such as lights out and creates a long lasting, memorable impact on the audience.

How will we overcome this?
We are going to overcome this by eventually taking the shot out. We are going to leave it in for the first cut, in case it may grow on us. furthermore, we will leave it in for the first cut and get people opinion on it.

We sent out an email to people in our year and also a few teachers. The idea of this was to gain feedback, whether it be positive or negative. The reason we chose both students and adults is due to our target market research audience. Our audience is people of the age of 18+, this was covered by the students in year 13 in Sixth form and also teachers would represent the upper bracket of our target audience (up to 35).

FEEDBACK:

Conclusion:
We are going to take this scene out in the 3rd cut and hopefully this improves the trailer and makes it more mysterious and less revealing.
